3 Months Prone Progress

Thank you so much for creating this forum. I'm 53 years old and I've refrained from prone masturbation for just over 3 months. (start date July 1, 2017). I'd been doing it prone since childhood and girls thought I was like some Taoist sex master or something having the ability to go on for so long. They did not know that I couldn't climax if I wanted to and most often, I did want to. In my late 40's I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes which fell in line with a couple of years of having problems off and on with ED. But I changed my diet, quit smoking and drinking and ED now isn't as prevalent as it was before. Still, I wanted to have "normal" sex and climaxes and after discovering the Healthy Strokes (via YouTube) I had a new sense of hope. While now practicing manual masturbation I find that some of the de-sensitization I'd lost due to years of prone has reversed. Masturbation this way is very pleasurable, but not to the point where I can achieve orgasm. It's so frustrating because it seems like I'm almost there and suddenly the sensation of climaxing disappears! At that point I feel like it's no use and I give up. One time I even tried prone similar to edging to recall exactly what being at the edge of orgasm feels like. I don't consider it cheating because I stopped just before having a prone climax. That was about a month ago. Sometimes I must admit that I'm tempted to give up and go back to prone because I'm so anxious to have just one powerful climax, even if it's just for one day! But I keep trying with the prescribed method of stopping with prone because the desire to have a normal sex life for the rest of my life always wins out in the end. Please tell me how longer do you think it will take before I can finally go over the edge so to speak? I've taken the advice of keeping the process with lubrication and a not so tight grip. I've even used a ring (if it's okay to say cock and ball ring it's so much easier to get the point across directly) to keep fully erect although I never had to be raging hard to climax during prone sessions. Still close but no cigar.

It should not take that long. Most men are able to reach orgasm by hand within a week of giving up prone, and those who can't almost always can do it within two weeks.

Definitely give up the masturbating prone short of orgasm. No more prone!

Try harder to bring yourself to orgasm when you feel you're close.

I concur with Doug - avoid prone masturbation. Try to not sleep on your stomach, and if you wake up and find yourself on your stomach, roll over.

I understand the feeling you have about approaching orgasm and then losing the sensation. I have found, recently, that by speeding up my stroke a little, and focusing on the couple inches of shaft just below the head, I can frequently get that feeling back. Sometimes I switch to just thumb and two fingers - not the whole fist. It usually leads to a powerful orgasm. I have given up prone masturbation for about 5 years now and I have found that, through frequent practice, I'm getting better and better at it. I had the same issue with women as you describe. In fact, the last time a woman was jacking me off and was disappointed that she didn't get to see me ejaculate was when I did serious research and found Doug's site. And it's all been swell since then. So stick with it! Practice practice practice...
